The top uniformed officer at U.S. Transportation Command said the logistics aspect of military operations is making its way into exercises designed to test joint data integration tools for the U.S. military’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control initiative, Defense Daily reported Monday.
Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost recently told reporters that the Global Information Dominance Experiment provides an opportunity for Department of Defense organizations to test systems compatibility and logistics flow.
“As we do more and more exercises, I think what you’ll find is we’re no longer ‘fairy dusting’ logistics, or making it an add-on, but integrating it,” Van Ovost was quoted as saying by Defense Daily.
She noted the command is learning about decoys and drone defense while providing assistance to Ukraine.
“It’s quite the battlefield that we’re learning from there, and I think just about all of it is applicable to any new fight in this kind of contested environment.”
Hear Van Ovost’s in-depth perspective on how TRANSCOM and other defense agencies are gearing up to maneuver their logistics in a contested environment during her keynote address to the Potomac Officers Club’s“Preparing for the Contested Logistics Era” forum.
