General Electric(NYSE: GE) has received a two-year, $114.9 million contract from the U.S. Navy to supply 28 F414-GE-400 engines and associated devices for installation into F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler jets.
The Navy obligated the full contract amount at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal 2017 overseas contingency operations aircraft procurement funds, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
Work will occur in Lynn, Massachusetts; Hooksett, New Hampshire; Rutland, Vermont; and Madisonville, Kentucky through February 2019.
GE’s line of F414 engines are designed to increase the thrust of aircraft’s air-to-air weapons, air-to-surface and electric airborne attack systems.
