GE Aerospace will build T408-GE-400 turboshaft engines to power CH-53K production helicopters for the U.S. Navy and the Israeli government under a $683.7 million contract.
The Navy ordered 129 engines under full-rate production lots six to eight, while Israel procured 40 units through a foreign military sales transaction, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Contract work take place in Lynn, Massachusetts, and is expected to occur until June 2027.
Other services under the firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee include logistics, programmatic and cost-reduction support efforts.
The Navy will obligate $346.8 million at the time of award from fiscal years 2021, 2022, 2023 aircraft procurement funds. FMS customer funds from Israel amounted to $153.7 million.
