The contract has a base term of five years and seven option years and will support the Army Center of Excellence that oversees the Flight School XXI program, GDIT said Tuesday.
GDIT supports the Army’s Flight School XXI program by serving as a prime contractor focused on delivering simulators and other training services to back rotary wing flight training activities at Fort Rucker in Alabama.
The vendor will provide simulation tech systems to train students in multiple attack, utility, cargo and training helicopters through the program, which trains about 4,000 students in entry and graduate levels each year.
“We have partnered with the U.S. Army for nearly two decades and provided more than 1 million hours of simulation training,” said GDIT President Amy Gilliland.
Gilliland, a 2023 Wash100 awardee, added the company looks forward to delivering training capabilities in support of future aviators.
