GDIT Receives $286M CMS Contract for Center Operational Services

General Dynamics Information Technology will continue delivering operational services to the Benefits Coordination and Recovery Center under a $286 million contract from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary said Wednesday the contract, initially awarded in April with an eight-month base period and four option years, covers digital modernization and other mission support services required by the BCRC.

Benefits coordination, secondary payer assessment and debt determination, digital imaging, data management, debt collection and clients’ waivers and appeals are some of the services GDIT will provide.

The contractor will also utilize artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to enhance the BCRC’s operations.

Kamal Narang, senior vice president for federal health at GDIT, stressed the importance of the contract in helping CMS safeguard the Medicare trust fund. “We look forward to delivering innovative services that further streamline the coordination of health benefits for more than 67 million Medicare beneficiaries.”

BCRC aids Medicare beneficiaries in identifying their health benefits and collecting payments from primary insurers and secondary payers. These efforts helped the Medicare trust fund save over $7.6 billion in 2022.
