In a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment, GDIT President Amy Gilliland, a 2026 Wash100 Award recipient, welcomed McHale to the GDIT team.

She previously served as CIO and chief information security officer at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Before joining Booz Allen, McHale was the CISO at Blackboard and held leadership roles in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure at Novetta and CSRA, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The University of Mary Washington graduate holds a master’s degree in discrete mathematics and computing applications from Royal Holloway, University of London.
