Rebecca McHale Joins GDIT as HR & Communications SVP

General Dynamics Information Technology has appointed Rebecca McHale, former Peraton executive, as senior vice president of human resources and communications.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment, GDIT President Amy Gilliland, a 2026 Wash100 Award recipient, welcomed McHale to the GDIT team.

“Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise to this role, with a distinguished background that spans human resources, operations, security, and IT infrastructure. Her passion for fostering innovation and enabling employee success aligns perfectly with GDIT’s mission and culture,” noted Gilliland, a nine-time Wash100 awardee.

In her new role at GDIT, McHale will oversee talent acquisition, people management and development, compensation and benefits, corporate giving, global mobility, employee engagement and internal communications across the organization.

Who Is Rebecca McHale?

McHale is a seasoned executive who most recently served as Peraton’s chief HR officer. She joined the company as chief information officer in 2021.

She previously served as CIO and chief information security officer at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Before joining Booz Allen, McHale was the CISO at Blackboard and held leadership roles in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure at Novetta and CSRA, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The University of Mary Washington graduate holds a master’s degree in discrete mathematics and computing applications from Royal Holloway, University of London.
