GDIT Named Among The Washington Post’s 2022 Top Workplaces; Amy Gilliland, Tammy Kness Quoted

General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology business was awarded the eighth spot on The Washington Post’s 2022 list of Top Workplaces in the DC metro region, ranking among other large companies.

The anual award recognizes a company’s employee diversity, inclusiveness and other aspects of workplace culture and is based on employee survey results from an independent research and consulting firm, General Dynamics Information Technology said.

“This award is a testament to the vibrant, diverse and inclusive culture we’re rebuilding at GDIT over the last four years,” commented Amy Gilliland, president of GDIT and a 2022 Wash100 Award recipient. “The strength of our culture is critical to serving our customers, creating meaningful careers for our employees and driving innovation and growth.”

GDIT has a mental health awareness program that was launched during the pandemic to supplement its other employee-focused efforts such as caregiver support and flexible work. The ‘How Are You, Really?’ campaign resulted in an increase in mental health counseling access and enterprise-wide conversations on mental health, according to the company.

Nine employee resource groups, including the Black Employee Network and those for veterans and military families, are also in place to instill a sense of community and a platform to discuss concerns and raise issue awareness.
