What Is the CDC WTC Health Program’s Objective?

According to a solicitation published in January, the WTC Health Program is a limited benefit federal healthcare program that provides medical monitoring and treatment for WTC-related conditions to survivors, first responders and other individuals directly affected by the Sept. 11 attacks in New York; Shanksville, Pennsylvania; and at the Pentagon.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, or NIOSH, within CDC administers the program.

What Are the WTC Health Program TPA’s Responsibilities?

The TPA for the CDC WTC Health Program receives and processes enrollment applications and certification requests for NIOSH decision-making; oversees a call center; maintains member demographic information; manages and maintains provider networks on behalf of the program; administers program benefits; and processes medical claims, among other tasks.

GDIT said it has delivered an IT platform that processes all new enrollee applications and health claims while protecting payment and enrollee data. The company also operates the health desk and manages financial data in support of the WTC Health program.
