General Dynamics Information Technology has received a U.S. Navy contract worth $988 million to modernize and integrate command, control, communications, computers, combat, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or C5ISR, systems across the service branch’s surface combatant ships to help improve naval forces’ readiness.
What Is the Scope of the Navy SACSS Contract?
GDIT said Monday the Ship and Air C5ISR Systems Support, or SACSS, contract has a one-year base term, four option years and a six-month option period.

The Navy’s SACSS contract underscores the importance of modernized C5ISR systems in maintaining maritime dominance and operational readiness. These priorities will take center stage at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Navy Summit, where senior Navy leaders and industry innovators will discuss the future of naval warfare and integration. Register now to be part of the dialogue shaping the Navy’s next era.
The SACSS contract, awarded in December, aims to ensure mission continuity by providing engineering, integration, procurement, logistics and installation services for C5ISR systems onboard the Navy’s surface combatant vessels, including aircraft carriers, guided missile ships, Coast Guard vessels, manned and unmanned aircraft and shore stations.
“C5ISR systems are foundational to how our Navy senses, communicates and fights in the modern battlespace,” said Brian Sheridan, senior vice president for defense at GDIT. “We look forward to continuing to deliver innovative solutions to ensure these vital systems operate at peak performance and enable our warfighters to stay ahead of emerging threats.”
