Erickson will offer insights on weather and climate forecasting and how NWS works to improve satellite, aircraft and surface observations as well as how the agency uses climate data to perform its mission.
In her current role, Erickson oversees day-to-day weather operations covering U.S. states, territories, oceanic areas and nearby waters, with a focus on scientifically forecasting the impacts of extreme climate events.
