Gary Gagnon, former vice president and chief security officer at Amazon(Nasdaq: AMZN), has rejoined Mitreas VP of cyber strategy and CSO.
He will be responsible for developing and implementing cyber and physical security measures across the nonprofit corporation’s work program, Mitre said Monday.
Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and a 2018 Wash100 recipient, said Gagnon brings mission support experience in government, academic and private sectors to the organization.
Gagnon previously served as senior VP of global security and chief information security officer at Inmarsat.
Prior to Inmarsat, he spent three decades at Mitre in leadership roles that have included service as VP of the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Center and SVP of intelligence programs.
