FY 2022 NDAA to Create Strategy for Distributed Ledgers, Other Emerging Tech

A $770 billion defense policy bill that President Joe Biden signed into law Monday requires the Department of Defense to come up with a digital health strategy for distributed ledgers and other emerging technology, The Block reported Tuesday.

The fiscal year 2022 National Defense Authorization Act directs the DOD secretary to find ways to incorporate such technologies by April 1, 2022, and provide a chief digital recruiting officer with the needed resources to hire professionals with skills in digital technologies, including distributed ledgers.

The NDAA, which was approved by the Senate and House in December, reflects a 5 percent increase from the previous fiscal year’s defense policy measure.
