Bill Moran, a 38-year U.S. Navy veteran and former vice chief of naval operations, has joined the board of directors at Miami-based military augmented reality system developer Red 6.
He is the president of WFM Advisors, a company he also established to offer advisory services to large and startup companies, Red 6 said Tuesday.
His Navy career includes command leadership roles at every level and worked in the nonprofit sector, including at the U.S. Naval Institute and the Naval Aviation Museum, following his military retirement.
Red 6 received a $70 million contract from the U.S. Air Force in August to integrate the company’s Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System into the T-38 Talon military trainer aircraft.
The company said it is in talks with the Navy over the possibility of integrating ATARS into the branch’s operational and training platforms.
