Former SAIC SVP Vernon Saunders Named Freedom Consulting Group CEO

Vernon Saunders, formerly a senior vice president of national intelligence at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), has been appointed CEO at Freedom Consulting Group, according to a recent LinkedIn post.

The former U.S. Air Force has three decades of experience in enterprise information technology and IT strategy development.

Before his stint at SAIC, Saunders was the general manager of data and mission IT functions at HII Technical Solutions for more than two years.

He also managed the federal network systems business that Verizon sold to Jacobs Engineering Group in 2014 and continued oversight of the unit when it was integrated into Jacobs.

Saunders is a board member of the nonprofit social service organization Northern Virginia Urban League and was featured in Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2016 and 2017.

Columbia, Maryland-based Freedom Consulting Group offers data analytics, business intelligence and data engineering products and services to federal government customers.
