John Evans
John Evans, former chief information security officer for the state of Maryland, has joined World Wide Technology as chief technology adviser for the state and local government and education market.
He will work with clients on technical matters related to enterprise transformation, strategy and innovation, WWT said Wednesday.
Shawn Rodriguez, vice president of WWT’s SLED business, said Evans brings 15 years of technology experience in areas such as cloud, security and mission critical applications.
He concurrently served as Maryland CISO and deputy chief technology officer and led the development of a data architecture for the state’s Total Human Services Information Network.
Evans has worked as adjunct professor of cybersecurity graduate program at University of Maryland University College since December 2017. Prior to his public sector career, he held positions at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT), Vigilant Watch Integration and Secure Network Systems.
