Tony Scott, who served as federal chief information officer during the Obama administration, will take the helm of cybersecurity company Intrusion as president and CEO starting Monday.
He most recently led The TonyScottGroup, a consulting firm he also established in 2017 to help clients manage their cybersecurity posture, Intrusion said Thursday.
During his tenure as federal CIO, Scott oversaw the government’s approximately $85 billion annual IT budget and played a key role in efforts to help agencies secure information systems.
He previously held the CIO post at VMware and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and worked as chief technology officer at General Motors (NYSE: GM).
