Former DISA CTO David Mihelcic Joins Juniper's Federal Division; Tim Solms Comments

David Mihelcic, former chief technology officer of the Defense Information Systems Agency, has joined Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) to support future technology roadmap and product development efforts at the company’s federal division.

Juniper Networks said Tuesday the 30-year public sector veteran will also provide counsel on the firm’s infrastructure modernization programs that focus on network security.

In his previous role at DISA, Mihelcic implemented an enterprise-wide systems engineering process for the Defense Department and established an agency board that facilitates and governs cross-program integration and synchronization.

“David has a proven track record of positive disruption within the federal government and we™re pleased to welcome him to Juniper to continue to drive innovation not only for our federal customers, but the entire company,” said Tim Solms, vice president for U.S. federal business and managing director of worldwide government at Juniper Networks.

Mihelcic also supported DoD’s Global Information Grid Bandwidth Expansion program that sought to increase the amount of available bandwidth used for national security missions.

He previously served as head of the Naval Research Laboratory’s network security section and a senior consultant at SRI International.

He is also a current member of the board of directors at the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s Washington, D.C. chapter.
