Nadia Carlsten, former director of commercialization at the Department of Homeland Security and program manager of its cybersecurity division, has joined Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) as head of strategy and operations, G2Xchange ETC reported Monday.
She has worked with multiple technology companies and research-and-development organizations in efforts to formulate innovation, intellectual property and investment management strategies.
At DHS, Carlsten coordinated with industry partners and investors to commercialize federally-funded technology platforms. She previously held leadership roles focused on implementing open innovation at the Department of Energy and Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
She started her career as a researcher at University of California, Berkeley, and as a laboratory technician at University of Virginia.
