Dirk Hoke, formerly the CEO of Airbus’ defense and space business, has joined the board of directors of Spire Global (NYSE: SPIR).
The 25-year industry veteran will aim to help Spire’s leadership team in efforts to bring satellite-powered data offerings to the government and commercial sectors, the company said Tuesday.
“I’m looking forward to working with the company’s management team to expand Spire’s reach across industry and geography, identifying new use cases for the company’s space-based data solutions,” Hoke noted.
He previously led Siemens’ business operations in Africa, industrial solutions division in Germany and transportation systems unit in China.
Peter Platzer, CEO of Spire Global, said he expects Hoke’s professional experience to help the company explore potential growth opportunities in the defense sector and other industries that want to deploy space-based applications and sensors.
