Edward Rice, Jr., a retired U.S. Air Force general who was a commander of its Air Education and Training Command, has joined the board of directors of L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX).
The company said Friday it looks to leverage Rice’s extensive military and national security background in developing products to address existing and future threats.
Rice retired a four-star general, serving the Air Force for 35 years. He led command units in Japan, including U.S. Forces Japan and Pacific Air Forces, where he was vice commander. He also commanded the 13th Air Force, which was last headquartered in Hawaii.
“As the [Department of Defense] sees China as our nation’s pacing threat, Ed’s experience and insights will be of immense value as we work to help our customers meet these challenges,” said Christopher Kubasik, chair and CEO of L3Harris and previous winner of the Wash100 Award.
