“In my experience, the U.S. military and the world in general are changing much slower than our adversaries… A huge issue is that the Department of Defense has such a wide attack surface. It takes a long time to get people up to speed, coordination across organizations is difficult and complex, and we have finite budgets. We’re just now starting to get into the senior leadership level of people who began their careers with a focus on IT initiatives and cybersecurity. Cyber wasn’t as crucial even a decade ago.”
