Esri and Figure Eight Technologies have secured a contract to help the Department of Defense-run Joint Artificial Intelligence Center develop technology prototypes for consequence assessments in the wake of natural or manmade disasters.
The industry team will support prototyping efforts aimed at helping DoD assess impacts of disasters as part of JAIC’s Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief National Mission Initiative, Esri said Wednesday.
JAIC looks to field AI-based platforms that can simplify the process of locating disaster-affected personnel and infrastructure.
Esri noted it will provide the company’s geographic information system, called ArcGIS, that uses AI and location intelligence to generate predictive situational awareness data.
