Eric Trexler, formerly executive director for civilian and national security programs at McAfee, has been named vice president of sales for global governments and critical infrastructure business at Raytheon-led (NYSE: RTN) cyber joint venture Forcepoint.
Trexler will directly report to Sean Berg, senior VP and general manager of the business unit, and oversee all local and international sales operations of the division, Forcepoint said Tuesday.
He will work through the companys office in Herndon, Virginia, and advance client and partner relationships across network and cloud security, insider threats, cross domain and user and data security areas.
Eric brings to Forcepoint a deep understanding of the cyber challenges that intelligence, defense and civilian agencies face day-to-day, Berg said.
Berg added that Trexler will work to help clients carry out complex missions and provide cyber platforms designed to support warfighters in high assurance environments.
Trexlers career at McAfee, formerly Intels (Nasdaq: INTC) security business, included time as regional director for intelligence programs and senior account manager for intelligence community.
The 20-year technology industry veteran held senior account management roles at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), Dell EMCand Sybase.
He also served in the U.S. Army for four years as an airborne ranger and communications specialist.
Trexlers appointment comes as Forcepoint expands its global governments business with the integration of critical infrastructure segment and works to provide cybersecurity platforms to government clients through itsHuman Point System portfolio.
