Boeing (NYSE: BA) will manufacture a dozen CH-47F Chinook helicopters for the Egyptian air force under a $426 million contract from the U.S. Army to address a foreign military sale requirement.
Deliveries of the F-model cargo aircraft are projected to commence sometime in 2026, the planemaker said Tuesday.
The award comes less than one year after the State Department approved Egypt’s $2.6 billion request to procure 23 CH-47Fs and related equipment to replace that country’s D-model Chinook fleet.
Boeing said the F configuration has a common avionics architecture system cockpit, an integrated digital cockpit management platform and modern cargo-handling features.
Collectively, the Army and 19 U.S. allies own more than 950 Chinook aircraft.
