Alexandria, Virginia-headquartered small business Edgesource has acquired Newbrook Solutions, a Chantilly, Virginia-based provider of software development services to defense and intelligence agencies.
Newbrook brings a team of security-cleared experts in service management, software engineering, process engineering and systems engineering and technical advisory services, Edgesource said Wednesday.
The acquired company will retain its name and operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Edgesource.
Joe Urbaniak, chief strategy officer of Edgesource, said the transaction will enable the company to position itself as a leader in data engineering, cybersecurity, research, system engineering, software exploitation and counter-unmanned aerial systems technologies.
“This is a strategic acquisition that will leverage the strengths of both companies, provide growth opportunities for all of our employees, and support our own mission to develop and deploy national security solutions for the intelligence, diplomatic, homeland, and military communities,” said Chris Lansburgh, president and CEO of Edgesource.
Newbrook offers support to the federal government, intelligence community and commercial sector in designing, testing and deploying secure software technologies.
