ECS Federal has been awarded a potential three-year, $83.1M contract to prototype integrated artificial intelligence and platforms for the U.S. Army.
The company will perform work on AI-platform prototypes in Fairfax, Va., through March 26, 2023, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Army Contracting Command obligated the full contract amount from the branch’s fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
According to the Army, its researchers have explored the potential application of AI technology to military missions across the land, air, sea, cyber and space domains.
They identified the concepts of multidomain operations and coalition situational understanding as key factors to facilitate human-machine collaboration in warfighting.
