Charles Stark Draper Laboratory has secured a three-year, $200.7M contract modification to produce boost guidance systems for U.S. and U.K. submarine-launched missiles.
Cambridge, Mass.-based Draper will provide MK6 equivalent guidance units to the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System program under the sole-source award, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The Navy obligated $197.8M and the U.K government allocated nearly $3M for the modification, which runs through December 2023.
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is the prime contractor for the Trident missile system fielded aboard U.S. Ohio-class and British Vanguard-class submarines.
The Navy SSP office tasked Draper to build, test and deploy components for integration into the submarine fleet.
