The Department of Energy plans to award $121M worth of research and development grants to 103 small businesses from across 29 U.S. states.
DOE said Monday the money will support R&D efforts under the second phase of its Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs.
The median value for individual projects is $1M over a two-year period.
SBIR and STTR projects seek to address requirements of DOE offices focused on electricity, fossil energy, environmental management and nuclear energy, among others.
