DOD Seeks Industry Input on Upcoming Engineering, Technical Support Contract

The Department of Defense is conducting market research to assess industry capability and interest in supporting a planned indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for research, development, test, evaluation, engineering and technical support, or RETS, services. The effort, managed by Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate, supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, or OUSD R&E, according to a request for information posted on Sam.gov Monday.

What Capabilities Will the RETS IDIQ Support?

Work will span mission engineering, systems engineering, software development, developmental test and evaluation, prototyping, experimentation, modeling and simulation, operations research, science and technology assessment, data management and surge support.

The OUSD R&E provides advice to Pentagon leadership on all matters related to DOD’s Research and Engineering enterprise, including technology development and transition, prototyping, experimentation, and administration of testing ranges.

The RETS IDIQ is intended to deliver flexible and scalable technical services across classified and unclassified environments. The anticipated period of performance is five years, with work to be performed at government and contractor facilities.

Interested parties may submit their capability statements by 11 a.m. Eastern time on Dec. 21.
