Saab‘s U.S. business arm has booked a $104 million order to supply the Department of Defense with AT4 anti-tank weapon systems and Carl-Gustaf ammunition between 2024 and 2026.
The contract extends an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity framework agreement signed by DOD and Saab in 2019, which could increase in value by $422 million, the company said Monday.
DOD ordered units of the AT4CS reduced sensitivity system and the Carl-Gustaf HE 441E recoilless rifle for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps and Special Operations Command.
AT4CS is designed as a portable and fully disposable weapon with flexible shoulder-launched munition. Another man-portable shoulder-fired rifle, the Carl-Gustaf M4 is compatible with the HE 441E, which can hit semi-hardened targets and soft-skinned vehicles.
