The Defense Logistics Agency has released a solicitation for the fourth iteration of a contracting vehicle that would provide for research and development efforts in various agency mission-specific areas.
According to the SAM.gov notice, the Emergent IV broad agency announcement will have a potential $125 million ceiling value for R&D program focused on emerging technologies aimed at modernizing DLA’s part, component and logistical product data functions.
DLA plans to use the BAA to cover scientific study and experimentation in areas of interest excluded from the agency’s annual planning and development processes for R&D.
Some of the projects the agency is interested in are for medical logistics, distribution, advanced manufacturing, smart connected logistics, anti-counterfeiting technical tools, fuel or energy, artificial intelligence/machine learning applications, strategic materials, lithium battery deactivation, blockchain logistics and edge computing.
Interested parties have until June 12, 2027, to submit white papers detailing initial project plans.
The BAA has a five-year availability. Its initial ceiling of $50 million was raised to $125 million via a recent amendment.
