The Department of Homeland Security is slated to brief industry on a potential $3B follow-on contract for commercial information technology products and reseller services next month, Bloomberg Government reported Friday.
DHS said in a prior announcement the FirstSource III contract is set-aside for small businesses and covers a seven-year period.
The award includes additional requirements for managed services, including software- and hardware-as-a-service offerings, according to the report.
DHS started accepting bids for the predecessor FirstSource II contract in 2011 and has obligated over $3.3B for the award since fiscal year 2012.
BGOV noted that it expects the department to issue a final request for proposals for the recompete contract in September and begin issuing awards by March 2021.
Registration for the FirstSource III industry event will run through June 29.
