The Department of Homeland Security has asked industry to submit comments on a draft solicitation for the third iteration of the FirstSource contract for commercial information technology products and services and software platforms.
A notice posted Thursday says the FirstSource III contract will be a set-aside program for small businesses and DHS wants to establish contracts with experienced software publishers and IT value-added resellers to help the department and its components carry out their missions and generate savings.
DHS said it intends to award multiple indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts through the FirstSource III vehicle, which will cover virtual desktop infrastructure device, small form factor device, peripheral device, software and VAR services.
The draft request for proposals wants industry insights on the definitions of software publishing and IT value-added reseller.
DHS will accept feedback on the draft RFP through Nov. 20 and plans to host a virtual industry engagement event for FirstSource III in the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
