Devin Sappington Named SAS VP of Business Development

Devin Sappington, a 35-year industry veteran, has been appointed vice president of business development at Special Aerospace Services.

The space, hypersonics and missile defense company said Wednesday Sappington will lead expansion efforts through capture opportunities in the federal, defense and commercial sectors.

Who Is Devin Sappington?

Sappington is a seasoned business development executive with a proven track record in business and proposal development and capture lifecycle management. He is credited with bringing over $2 billion in contracts for various organizations in the Department of Defense and federal industry. The executive is well-versed in federal procurement and Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance, and excels in senior-level customer engagement.

Before joining V2X, Sappington served as the senior director of capture and business development at V2X for over five years. He also spent over six years at Saalex Solutions and a year at Great Eastern Group, serving in business development director roles.

Sappington worked for BAE Systems for nearly 14 years as business development manager and operations and data center manager, where he was tasked with operating and maintaining a global network of sensors for monitoring nuclear test ban treaties.

Before joining the private sector, Sappington served in the U.S. Air Force for six years as an applied physics technician at the Air Force Technical Applications Center. He was also an electronic warfare technician responsible for maintaining EW systems aboard B-52 aircraft.
