John McClurg, former vice president and chief security officer at Dells global security unit and an FBI veteran, has joined cyber services provider Cylance as a VP in the office of security and trust.
Cylance said Friday McClurg will collaborate with newly-appointed Chief Security and Trust Officer Malcolm Harkins to develop security and trust programs.
“The launch of the OST and our philanthropic efforts to provide advanced cyber protection to non-profits align well with our goal of protecting everyone under the sun, ” Cylance CEO Stuart McClure said.
McClurg is also a former FBI special agent and supported efforts by the CIA and departments of Defense and Energy to counter terrorism, cybercrime and espionage.
At Cylance, McClurg will also act as an ambassador-at-large to discuss modern-day risk challenges posed to industry and how the company’s CylancePROTECT machine learning system can help with them.
McClurg served as chief security officer at Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) before he joined Dell.
