December 12 Morning Report: GovCon Index Registers 6th Straight Weekly Gain as Defense Stocks Continue Post-Election Rally

Executive Mosaic™s GovCon Index closed Friday up 0.476 percent to 90.426, with gainers outnumbering laggers by a 2-to-1 ratio, as the climb of defense stocks continues following the election of Donald Trump.

McKesson Corp. (NYSE: MCK) was the GCI™s top net advancer while Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) was the top percentage performer as the Index saw its sixth consecutive weekly gain with a 14.75-percent increase over that period.

S&P 500 composite index rose 6.26 percent over six weeks and hit an all-time record Friday of 2, 259.53 for its fifth straight weekly advance.
