DC Capital to Merge Valkyrie With Hill Technical Solutions; Thomas Campbell Quoted

DC Capital Partners Management has made an investment in Valkyrie Enterprises and will combine the latter with the private equity firm’s portfolio company Hill Technical Solutions.

Valkyrie has over 700 engineers, industry specialists and technical professionals who provide support to diplomatic and security missions at the Department of Defense and allied government entities, DC Capital said Tuesday.

Established in 2007, Valkyrie provides mission-critical platforms and services across the areas of readiness and sustainment, maritime modernization and command, control, communications, computers, combat systems and intelligence.

Huntsville, Alabama-based HTS provides systems engineering and integration, hypersonic design and testing platforms, systems architecture analysis and design, technology development for Intelligence Community and DOD customers, including the U.S. Army and the Missile Defense Agency.

Thomas Campbell, founder and managing partner of DC Capital, said Valkyrie has achieved organic growth through four acquisitions in the last five years and is a strategic fit with HTS in terms of geographic locations, client base and growth areas such as C5I.

“This combination provides an enhanced range of capabilities and the additional infrastructure to provide greater support to our customers to meet their mission critical requirements and to provide additional opportunities for our employees,” added Campbell.

Chertoff Capital and Greenberg Traurig acted as financial adviser and legal counsel, respectively, to Valkyrie in the transaction. DC Capital’s legal adviser in the deal was Arnold & Porter.
