AWS Worldwide Public Sector VP David Levy Receives 2025 Wash100 Award

David Levy, vice president for the worldwide public sector at Amazon Web Services, has accepted the 2025 Wash100 Award. A six-time Wash100 winner, Levy is being recognized for his leadership in driving technological innovation and securing major government contracts for AWS.

“Dave continues to be a driving force in advancing cloud and AI adoption across the public sector,” commented Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.

“His push to accelerate generative AI adoption—including AWS’s $50M Impact Initiative and partnerships with industry leaders like Booz Allen and GDIT—demonstrates his commitment to helping agencies innovate at scale,” Garrettson added.

The Wash100 Award is handed annually to the 100 most impactful leaders in the government and government contracting industry. The award recognizes not just their previous successes but also anticipates the winners’ future achievements.

David Levy at the Forefront of Federal Technology Advancement

AWS, under Levy, is leading digital transformation across federal agencies. The company is providing Digital Public Infrastructure, or DPI, to government customers to deploy new digital services and enhance the delivery of public services.

The technology company is also promoting generative artificial intelligence use through the AWS Public Sector Generative AI Impact Initiative. Under the two-year initiative, AWS will provide  Promotional Credits, training, technical expertise access to the Generative AI Innovation Center to accelerate adoption of generative AI.

AWS has also teamed up with Booz Allen Hamilton to scale advanced technologies applications across intelligence, defense, civil and commercial missions. Under the partnership, the companies will deliver generative AI, cybersecurity and cloud migration capabilities to support the digital modernization of federal agencies.

In addition to its work with government organizations, AWS provided $40 million in funding for the establishment of the Cancer AI Alliance, which will utilize AI to better understand cancer biology and treatment resistance.
