David Johnson
David œDJ Johnson, an 11-year Honeywell (NYSE: HON) veteran, has been named vice president of the industrial conglomerate™s newly created federal solutions business, GovConWire has learned.
He will work through the business’ Washington, D.C.-based office to manage contracts with the Energy Department, National Nuclear Security Agency and other government agencies.
HFS oversees more than $6B in annual government contracts and has approximately 27,000 employees at the Savannah River Site, Kansas City National Security Campus, Nevada National Security Site and Sandia National Labs.
Johnson told GovConWire that HFS will work to combine processes and resources across several sites to ensure a safer workplace as well as accelerate production and development work œacross the nuclear weapons enterprise.
œWe believe that Honeywell™s overall vision to build a smarter, safer and sustainable world, clearly synchronizes with the DoE and NNSA missions as they relate to the sustainment of the nuclear stockpile as well as the environmental management of critical clean-up locations, he added.
Prior to his current role, Johnson previously served as VP and general manager of Honeywell™s defense customer business group that is responsible for the company™s partnerships with Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
He joined Honeywell in 2007 and since then, has held senior leadership roles such as director of program management and VP of space, engineering and operations.
Johnson is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel who served as a space and missile officer for classified and unclassified projects during his 23-year military career.
