David Clark, who previously served as vice president of operations at General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Bath Iron Works subsidiary, before he left the company in 2014, will return to the role effective Sept. 26., Spectrum News reported Tuesday.
He will lead a department that focuses on the construction of Arleigh Burke-class destroyer ships for the U.S. Navy and will rejoin the BIW business after a six-month stint as chief of shipyard operations at Fincantieri Group‘s North American marine systems unit.
“I hope to hit the ground running while also bringing a fresh perspective gained from the experiences I have had during the last eight years,” Clark said.
The industry veteran started his BIW career in 1974 and held the operations VP post there for approximately six years beginning in 2008.
