CymSTAR Wins $150M Air Force Contract for C-5 Training System Support

CymSTAR has won a U.S. Air Force contract worth more than $150 million to continue operating the C-5 Training System.

As the prime contractor, the aircrew training systems integrator said Monday it will work with its partners Aviation Training Consulting, CAE USA and CTE Joint Venture to provide mission-ready training support at multiple U.S. sites.

Daniel Marticello, president and CEO of CymSTAR, said the company is honored to continue supporting the Air Force with training capabilities for the C-5M Super Galaxy fleet.

“This award recognizes our team’s dedication, expertise, and partnership with the Air Force. We remain fully committed to delivering innovative solutions that prepare aircrews and maintainers for mission success today and into the future,” Marticello added.

USAF C-5 Training System Contract Scope

Under the Air Force contract, CymSTAR will continue to operate and maintain C-5 training devices, including simulators; develop and update courseware; provide aircrew and maintenance instruction; and ensure that training devices are aligned with aircraft modernization programs.

The company will provide training at several sites, including the C-5 Formal Training Unit at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas; Dover Air Force Base in Delaware; Travis AFB in California; and Westover Air Reserve Base in Massachusetts.

The award includes a transition period and nine option years. Contract performance will kick off on Jan. 1, 2026, and run through December 2034.

Since 2017, CymSTAR has supported the C-5 Training System program, which is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Agile Combat Support Directorate Simulators Division at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

The program seeks to provide trained aircrews for C-5 operations and deployment worldwide.

CymSTAR is a HUBZone-certified small business with over 200 skilled professionals focused on providing engineering, simulation products and training services for the U.S. military, allied countries and organizations in the aerospace industry.
