COMSovereign Holding has expanded its portfolio of 4G LTE and 5G networking platforms with the acquisition of Virtual Network Communications through a cash-and-stock transaction worth approximately $19M.
“VNC's proprietary virtualized core technology significantly advances our ability to provide network operators with a complete range of wireless technologies from the network edge to backhaul. This enables operators to quickly accelerate their strategic 4G LTE and 5G network modernization and upgrade programs,” Dan Hodges, chairman and CEO of COMSovereign, said in a statement published Tuesday.
“We look forward to working with the talented team at VNC to capitalize on the many synergies we see between our technologies and customers across commercial, government and military sectors,” Hodges added.
Chantilly, Va.-based VNC provides mobile and fixed broadband communications equipment and services for wireless networks operated by government, defense and commercial clients. The company has developed a man-portable LTE network system that can be integrated with drone systems and tethered aerostats to provide users with telecom network access.
COMSovereign, which oversees a portfolio of communications technology firms, initially announced the transaction in February.
