A Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) business unit has won a potential $75.8 million Commercial Ethernet Gateway Region 6 contract to help Department of Defense mission partners connect to DOD’s global military information network.
Comcast’s government services group will replace legacy multiplexing-based circuits with new ethernet connections in the region, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization received three proposals for the single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a competitive solicitation on SAM.gov.
DOD will fund the award’s $500 minimum guarantee using its fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance budget.
The award has a base performance period of six years and a pair of two-year options that would extend work through July 11, 2031.
