Columbia Helicopters has received a potential $243.1M contract modification from U.S. Transportation Command to support airlift operations within U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility.
The modification raises the original contract’s total cumulative value from $225.7M to $468.8M and covers the provision of rotary-wing aircraft built to transport cargo and personnel, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work will take place in Afghanistan from Sept. 1 of this year to Aug. 31 of next year.
Transcom will use the commands fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds to pay for contractor services under the modification.
Oregon-based Columbia Helicopters operates CH47D and 234 Chinook and Vertol 107-II helicopters.
