Columbia Helicopters, CHI Aviation Get $374M in Centcom Airlift Support Contract Modifications

U.S. Transportation Command has awarded a pair of contract modifications worth $374.2M combined to Columbia Helicopters and CHI Aviation to support rotary-wing airlift missions within U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility.

Both contractors will provide helicopters to transport U.S. military cargo and personnel to intended destinations in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The modifications exercise an option period that will extend work performance from Sept. 1 of this year to Aug. 31 of next year.

DoD noted the exercised options bring the total cumulative value of Columbia’s contract to $670.3M and CHI Aviation’s contract to $460.4M.
