Collins Aerospace Lands $100M Air Force IDIQ for B-2, B-52 Comms Modernization, Sustainment

Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), has received a $99.5 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Air Force to modernize and sustain a communication system on the service branch’s B-2 and B-52 aircraft and potential future platforms.

The decade-long work under the sole-source acquisition will support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center’s efforts focused on the Common Very Low Frequency/Low Frequency Increment 1 radios fitted to the stealth bombers, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Collins Aerospace will conduct services at its Richardson, Texas location through November 2033. AFNWC is providing the contractor with $7.4 million in fiscal 2022 procurement funds to cover for the initial delivery order.

In December 2013, the former Rockwell Collins company secured a $46.7 million engineering manufacturing development contract from the Air Force for the B-2 receivers.
