Collins Aerospace Receives $100M Air Force Contract to Maintain E-3 AWACS Avionics

Raytheon Technologies‘ (NYSE: RTX) Collins Aerospace business has secured a potential 10-year, $99.6 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to perform sustaining engineering work on avionics of the E-3 airborne early warning and control system.

Collins Aerospace will support recurring and non-recurring AWACS avionics maintenance requirements at USAF and NATO, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Services under the sole-source contract will take place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, through Feb. 11, 2032. Thirty-five percent of contract work supports NATO under the Pentagon’s Foreign Military Sales program.

USAF is obligating $838,118 at the time of award from operations and maintenance funds for fiscal year 2022.

The E-3 Sentry aircraft, manufactured by Boeing (NYSE: BA), allows the Joint Air Operations Center to obtain battlespace awareness in real time with the system’s command, control, surveillance, detection and tracking features.
