Cloudera (NYSE: CLDR) has signed an agreement to purchase certain assets of business intelligence and analytics software developer Arcadia Data for an undisclosed amount.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Cloudera said Wednesday it looks to integrate its data warehouse with Arcadias self-service data management offerings for future product releases.
Arcadia’s machine learning-based ArcEngine platform works to help organizations visualize data in real time for cybersecurity, internet of things, customer intelligence and data lake applications.
As data becomes more complex and varied from an increasing number of sources across private and public clouds, IT organizations must optimize data access or risk business users being unable to act, or acting on outdated information, said Anupam Singh, chief customer officer for Cloudera.
Singh added the integration of technology offerings from the two companies will help customers obtain insights.
