HII added Soong to its executive team upon completion of the company’s $1.65 billion cash acquisition of Alion, the Virginia-based military shipbuilder said Monday.
The more than 25-year industry veteran will be responsible for establishing Technical Solutions’ information technology priorities and helping the segment address its strategic goals.
His position includes reporting responsibilities to HII CIO Bharat Amin and Andy Green, president of Technical Solutions and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.
Soong previously held leadership roles at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), Sprint and CGI (NYSE: GIB). He won a 2020 Capital CIO of the Year ORBIE Award in the corporate category and received “One to Watch” recognition from CIO Magazine.
