The U.S. Transportation Command has awarded CHI Aviation a $168.8M contract modification to continue providing airlift support for the U.S. Central Command’s rotary-wing aircraft deployed at the latter’s area of responsibility.
The modification exercises an option period under the original contract and increases its total value from $653.6M to $484.9M, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
In 2017, CHI secured a $154M contract to perform rotary-wing airlift support for Centcom throughout a four-year period that would end on Apr. 30, 2021.
CHI will perform work under the new award from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2021.
Headquartered in Howell, Mich., CHI is a veteran-owned small business that offers airlift services for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft intended to support defense, firefighting and construction operations.
